“As with all aspects of the workshop, this seemingly everyday interaction – welcoming guests,
walking and talking together – is intrinsic to ‘convivial’ modes of art practice, and sometimes indistinguishable from more obviously artistic activities. This will be a theme for the day, thinking about the modes of art practice that involve people, conversation, cooking and eating as art work. Initially, this will focus on this “participatory” mode of art practice, before introducing some of the problematics of this, and also ways to develop a ‘more than human’ participatory art.” Thanks, Simon for wonderful day! Take part in an initiative designed to celebrate our natural heritage and ensure a brighter future for wildlife – BioBlitz Canada 150. In the case of the Yellowstone study, a particular seismic swarm, one that hit the region back in 1978, apparently left measurable traces in the wood rhythms of local tree ring growth—in other words, surface-dwelling organisms in the Park were found to bear witness, in their very structure, to shifts occurring much deeper in the planet they live upon. They are measuring sticks of subterranea.
